Evaluation

I was given an assignment to create a stop motion animation and record my progress on a blog. The first idea I came up with was a clay skater on a fingerboard but I scrapped that idea and decided to do my animation about a mushroom trip. The first thing I did was created my main character; he was yellow and barely humanoid, his name was ‘Barry’. I came up with a few ideas to make it seem like he was hallucinating, I decided to put any random objects I could find into the animation including my hand and the computer mouse. I thought this would give it more of an otherworldly feel to it. I think it give it a good effect and it made it easier for me to do because I did not have to worry about my hands being in some of the shots. I think the best part of my animation is my spider, although you cannot see much of the detail on him he was the hardest model to make. If I were to do this assignment all over again, I would spend more time getting the movement fluid and smooth as well as putting more detail into the characters movement. I think my animation turned out very well and I am happy with the finished result. I have looked at other people’s thoughts on my animation and taken them into account, most of them were positive and I like I had achieved what I wanted to do. One person noted that my credits were too fast. After reading other peoples comments I feel like I can make my animations better in the future. Next time I create an animation I will make the credits slower and spend more time making the animation run smoother.
